– Hello There –
Welcome to my blog and thank you for stopping by. I am Jaslyn, the proud owner of Modulariti Studios, also known as Modulariti. As a front-end developer, I craft immersive websites and user interfaces using tools like Webflow, HTML, CSS, and React. I also enjoy harnessing the power of Salesforce. But, my journey to this tech world has been anything but linear. I've worn a few different hats in my time. To be completely honest, I would have never conceived of pursuing a career in tech.
How I Got Started
Allow me to transport you back to a pivotal moment in early 2019 that changed the trajectory of my career. I received a phone call from a friend. He asked me about my career plans and if I would be interested in learning to code.
I was clueless about coding, in fact, I didn’t even know he was a web developer, I just knew he did things with computers. At the time, I was a pilates teacher but, unbeknownst to him, I was seeking a career that would offer me the freedom of location independence. Perfect timing.
My friend had recently completed a professional development program that emphasized the value of mentorship. He saw potential in me because he felt that I had certain qualities that would make me a great programmer, such as being attentive to detail. He also wanted to build his own team instead of constantly hiring freelancers, so he extended an invitation to me and a few others. That was in 2019 and fast forward, here I am.
So what is my blog about?
This blog serves as a platform for me to document my journey and embrace the concept of "learning in public". I've surpassed the initial phase of absolute cluelessness and developed a certain level of "Technical Sophistication," as beautifully coined by Michael Hartl in his enlightening book series, "Learn Enough." Although I never considered myself a "techy" person, I now find myself understanding two languages—the language of technology and the language of the not-so-techy-person. This unique perspective allows me to share insights and details that the naturally tech-savvy mind might overlook.
But here's the thing: even though I can execute various programming tasks, I'm still curious about how everything fits together under the hood. It is this thirst for understanding and context that drives me to explore HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Webflow, Salesforce, and any other fascinating realms that capture my attention along the way.
Thank you for being here, and let's embark on this incredible journey together!
